Characterized by its butterfly tail configuration, the Fouga CM170 Magister is one of a kind. Designed from 1949, its maiden flight was made on July 23rd 1952. First jet-propelled trainer aircraft in the world, it was selected by NATO in 1954 as the most suitable aircraft for primary training and entered service in 1962. A total of 929 units were produced and used by 22 air forces in the world. It could be equipped for support and air strike missions and was, for example, used by Israel in the Six-Day War. A carrier-born version, designated CM175 Zephyr, was also developed and used by the French Navy until 1994. Some examples still fly in the hand of private pilots.

This item will replace the simplistic plastic wheels of the kit. This set includes the 2 main wheels, the nose wheel and the tail wheel which was protecting the tail of the aircraft in case of a steep take-off. The characteristic details of the original  including the smaller brake discs and early style brake calipers have been recreated. Rim details like the center cap and the inflating valve, the brake system and characteristic dot-patterned tires have been accurately rendered.  Tires are realistically flattened to the replicate the effect of the weight of the aircraft while on the ground. These parts can be mounted on any Fouga Magister kit, but, as it was not designed for a specific kit, some adjustment may be necessary to fit properly.
