Rafale B - Mk.F16F Ejection Seat (Raised Harness) 2Pcs- 1/48

The Rafale is a multirole military aircraft used by the French Air Force, the French Navy as well several air forces from countries around the world like India, Egypt, Qatar or Greece. French forces are equipped with 3 different versions of this aircraft. Two are single-seaters (Rafale C and M) and one is a twin-seater (Rafale B). The Rafale M is in service with the French Navy and has specific features like a catapult bar and an arresting hook for use on aircraft carriers.

Whereas the prototype was fitted with a Mk.10 ejection seat, production aircrafts are equipped with the latest Mk.F16F seat. This new design uses a primary structure made from twin-catapult outer cylinder tubes as propulsion system to make the seat lighter than the older seats. It benefits from the latest innovations like a centralised safety system and a modular construction which make it easier to use and maintain. On twin-seater Rafale, the rear seat is identical to the single-seater seat. The front seat differs from the rear seat with the position of the rocket system mounted on the parachute container. This rocket system is designed to guide both seats in opposite directions to avoid any collision during the ejection process.

These parts accurately represent the Mk.F16F ejection seat used on the Rafale. Extensive research based on the dimensions and pictures of an actual seat and technical documentation allowed us to accurately replicate all characteristic details. The seat has its upper harness in a raised position on top of the parachute container. These parts will advantageously replace plastic kit parts. It just needs painting for a convincing look. As these parts have not been designed for a specific kit, some adjustment may be necessary to fit properly.
