F-4B/N Phantom II - Air Brake Set - 1/48

With over 5000 examples built, the F-4 Phantom II is an important aircraft in aviation history. During its over 60-years carrier, it took extensive part into several conflicts, including the Vietnam War, the Gulf War and the Yom Kippur War and was the backbone of air forces of 12 nations around the world. Since it entered service in 1960, the F-4 Phantom design evolved greatly resulting in many versions and subversions. One of the major changes was the increase of tire width which made necessary to add bulges on top and under the wings in order to fit the main landing gear in its bays. This change started with the F-4C and was carried on to later versions. Only the F-4A, F-4B and RF-4B retained the original wings. The air brakes, which are located behind the main landing gear bays on the lower surface of the wings were also modified and differ greatly from the later versions. When Academy released its kit, they omitted most of the details of these parts. This set gives you the opportunity to reproduce accurately this area by simply replacing the kit plastic parts. It includes the air brakes, the bays and the actuators. The assembly is very easy and all you need is painting for a convincing look.
